# User roles and permissions

> What the Owner, Admin, Analyst and Viewer roles can do in your Cowork workspace.

Cowork uses role-based access control (RBAC). Each person in your workspace has one role, and the role decides what they can see and do.

## Roles at a glance

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Full control of the workspace, including billing, API keys and team management. |
| **Admin** | Operational access to workflows and verifications. |
| **Analyst** | Run checks and view cases and risk profiles. Also called Specialist. |
| **Viewer** | Read-only access to reports. |

## Choose the right role

Give each person the lowest role that lets them do their job. For example, give a compliance reviewer who only reads reports the **Viewer** role, and keep the **Owner** role for the few people who manage billing and API keys.
