# Understand verification statuses

> What Found, Not Found, Pending, In Progress and Rejected mean on your verification checks.

Every verification check in Cowork shows a status. You can see them in **Quick Check** > **Customer Verification History**. The same statuses apply across identity, document, business and AML screening checks.

## Status meanings

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Found** (also shown as Successful) | The details match a record in the government database. |
| **Not Found** (also shown as Failed) | The details don't match, or the ID isn't indexed. |
| **Pending** (also shown as Processing) | The check is still in progress with the data provider or a field agent. |
| **In Progress** | The check is waiting for the candidate to complete their part of the workflow. |
| **Rejected** | The input or image was invalid, or the document quality was too low. |

## What to do next

* **Pending or In Progress:** wait, or follow up with the candidate if the check needs their input.
* **Not Found:** check that the details were entered correctly, then try again.
* **Rejected:** resubmit with valid input or a clearer image.
